Celebrating 150 years of business with a new website.
GLW Feeds is one of the largest independent, family-owned livestock and speciality feed manufacturers in the UK.
Our working relationship began in 2018 when an opportunistic sales call resulted in a face-to-face conversation about their marketing needs. The traditional values of the farming environment met the innovative nature of the brand head-on. It was clear that our ability to engage, learn and openly discuss aspects of the client’s day-to-day environment would result in significant and positive change.
The Goal.
This project focused on overhauling an old website design and bringing it up to date in every possible way. Their existing site was outdated, built on an old CMS platform, and had no support process for ongoing functional updates. The new site was created to sit among other marketing activities rather than in addition to it.
The Process.
A good brand determines what a website should look like. A good website functions because it conveys what a business does, is promoted to a relevant audience, and is regularly updated to meet the needs of its digital environment.
The new site created a bold brand presence with a structure that gave each species and related product a place to do business. Each species page now clearly shows opportunity and the system that supports the particular farmer’s needs.
The UK farming sector isn’t cold; it’s a community and, in many instances, a generation relationship. So, one fundamental factor for the new site was to communicate all external activity via strong news and events pages.
Project Details.
When we started working with GLW Feeds, their brand identity was lost in their day-to-day working environment. Their message was centralised around individual relationships rather than conveying their true value and successes to the sector they operate in.
Task one was to review the site to create a new structure that worked for the client, their customers and their prospects.
